Nestling ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Nestling, you agree to the practices described here.

Information you provide directly:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password when you register.
• Profile information: bio, profile photo, location (neighborhood), and children's birth months/years.
• Listing content: photos, descriptions, prices, and condition of items you post.
• Messages: communications sent through our in-app messaging system.
• Payment information: collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers. Stripe may store payment method details per their own privacy policy.

Information collected automatically:

• Usage data: pages viewed, search queries, filters applied, and features used, collected via Google Analytics 4.
• Device information: browser type, operating system, IP address, and approximate location.
• Cookies: session and preference cookies to keep you signed in and remember your settings.

Information from third parties:

• Google Sign-In: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.

• To create and manage your account.
• To facilitate listings, transactions, and buyer-seller communication.
• To process payments through Stripe.
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, message notifications).
• To improve the Service by analyzing usage patterns and search trends.
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With other users: your profile name, photo, general location (neighborhood), and listings are visible to other users. Your phone number is only visible if you choose to display it.
• Stripe: payment and payout information is shared with Stripe to process transactions. Stripe's use of your data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics: anonymized usage data (search terms, page views, events) is shared with Google Analytics 4 to help us understand how the Service is used. This data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Nestling or others.

We collect your general neighborhood or zip code to power local search. If you grant browser location permission, we use your precise coordinates to show distance-based results — this data is not stored permanently and is used only for the duration of your session. You can revoke location permission at any time in your browser settings.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and analyze usage via Google Analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work as expected.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Nestling is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Opt out of marketing emails (transactional emails like password resets are still sent).
